Description

Another fun find in the comic corners of Buenos Aires. This might be the only North American art he did and yet he had a very long and acknowledged career in Argentina and its deep comic industry. He took over this strip from Jose Salinas. Despite it having been syndicated by King and running for 12 years, this was my first encounter with this artist's work or the strip.

WOW! I was staring at this, having never heard of this artist, already knowing I was going to mention how similar the rendering style is to that of Jose Luis Salinas' Cisco work. How great to finsout that it's because of the influence he picked up from Salinas' own work on this strip, which I'm only now finding out he ever did!

Seamlessly weaves the patterned inks with the screentone with such fine control of the brush! A soccer strip with pure drama!
