DescriptionAs a child I had almost the entire Marvel Star Wars run, and that was the extent of the universe after the movies until the Extended Universe came along and Dark Horse started publishing new comics. One artist stood out among all for me shaping my image of this universe and that was Dave Dorman! As I came to appreciate the art of comics in my late teens and early 20's Dave's covers and prints were coming fast and furious producing the iconic images of the Star Wars Universe that never made it to screen and they all fit. Over the years I've craved an original painting from Dave but the time and budget was never right. I got to meet him the first time at Celebration III and I was so happy I forgot to talk much! Jump ahead a bit to the first C2E2 and I got to chat with him there and got my first original from him - a Boba Fett pencil sketch. Jump ahead again to 2020, which at least turned into a fantastic art year for me, and season 2 of the Mandalorian brings back my favorite bounty hunter in the most Epic of fashions and shows us truly why he was feared across the galaxy. The final teaser of the new Book of Fett series gave me chills and that night I knew that only one man was right for the image - it had to be Dave Dorman and I needed to do it before anyone else did! Arranged through Mike at More Great Art (MGA) (who always hooks me up) and we were off. Seeing Dave paint this live on line over the span of a week made me down right giddy. Being able to chat to him over across text in the video cast was a highlight as I watched the master display his skill over and over again. Despite FedEx's best efforts to disappear this piece into the ether of the shipping netherworld, it finally arrived in hand today and it is even better in person than I could guess from the screen. If you haven't guessed, this was a big thing for me, and if you are still reading this, then I expect you may appreciate Dave's work as much as I do! Social/Sharing |

Bob Fortuna's run came to an end. Sad noises. Boba takes over? Cheer!!!!! Dorman makes this iconic scene to embed this image into pop culture consciousness and canon of the lore.

An absolutely stunning piece and the details are just spectacular. This takes me right to the show and all the feelings of being excited about the series. Dorman hits so many home runs and this beauty is certainly out of the park! Congrats!!
