DescriptionI loved Don's Donald Duck/Uncle Scrooge stories when I was young and I was lucky enough to be at a very susceptible age in the late 80s when his first stories were published by Gladstone. I still remember the thrill of being 14 years old and bike downtown to the import book store and pick up a new Don Rosa Gladstone issue (or Floyd Gottfredson Mickey Mouse issue, for that matter). Fast forward 25 years and I was suddenly editorial project manager of the Swedish edition of the Scandinavian/European Complete Don Rosa Collection. Don really put his heart into this drawing of an emotional scene from his "Hearts of the Yukon" story – likely my favorite moment in his entire production – which he drew for me when we had invited him to Sweden to promote the series. I usually collect published art, but this isn't really a collector's item to me, or even part of my art collection – it's simply... the stuff I dreamt of when I was a kid...Social/Sharing |

Nice Goldie you got there. For myself, I like the Barks Goldie much more than the sexed up Rosa version of her. But this one...

But this one...I rarely compare Barks and Rosa, as they differ too much in basically all aspects - art style, approach to the characters and realism, the structure of plots and humor etc. However, I do find Barks' Goldie as sexy as Rosa's, very consciously using her sensuality to achieve her goals. But, well, there aren't too many Barks sequences to judge her character by.
