Hows he gonna get out of this one? What a cover as well as a riveting glimpse into the issue. Texture everywhere...the way the art gods intended. Congrats!

Nice! A very dynamic, excellent cover from Pollard's peak period inking his own pencils on cover assignments!

I'm assuming the villain on the cover was hired by Anthony as revenge for dealing without him.

Worthy of being a 3D poster !!   This title was sustained by the thirst for more Indiana Jones that continues to today.

Had no idea Indy was a Marvel property!  Pollard does suspense/tension extremely well.  The man purse flailing in the air only adds to the sense of desperation...

I believe this one qualifies as a cliffhanger? ^^

Based on the tiny pic, I thought at first it could be a Gammill one based on the strong figure work and that's about the best compliment I could give :)

Never read the comics, but watched countless times the movies (especially 1st and 3rd). Outstanding work by Pollard!

I've followed you on many adventures of reading your comments Marcus...but into the great unknown mystery of the coolness of this cover, I go first. It does belong in your museum.  It also makes me remember my Charlemagne. 'Let my armies be the rocks and the trees and the birds in the sky'.

We all know what happens 0.5 seconds after this image, correct? Indy's gonna use his right hand to...grab his hat and reposition it on his head. Those things don't grow on trees. Beautiful work by Pollard, man! Congrats!

Poor Indy!  Stuck in another "throw me the idol" / "throw me the whip" moment, alas...  How DOES he do it?

Awesome cover, Marcus!  I think Indy himself put it best when he said you've "got friends in every town and village from here to the Sudan. He speaks a dozen languages and knows every local custom. He'll blend in, disappear and you'll never see him again. With any luck he's got the grail already."

Oh, wait - he was talking about Marcus BRODY - the MOVIE character.  Ugh - sorry.  I get confused.  He did get the grail part right, though. ;)  Beautiful pick up, Marcus, and thanks for sharing more of your collection with us.

Vere are your, papahs? I don't need them, just hanging around for a minute. Heh, even the writer couldn't help from being punny with their cover caption. This is a cool cover, and I never would have guessed it was Pollard. He has so many styles! Cool cover score. Congrats!

In this issue Indy escapes from the Purveryor of Doom who tries to hold him back from the Jewel of the Tiger's Eye. Whoever holds the Jewel has access to the ancient rock fortress that holds the book-of-time written by the Falizian tribe. Of course, anyone who knows their Indiana Jones literature will remember that the Falizian tribe was key to the first couple of issues where Indys' then-girlfriend, Pearl, was held hostage by the Wagazis and the Falizians came to her rescue. It presents quite the conundrum for Indy now because he wants access to the book-of-time for his own curiosities but he also wants to return it to the Falizians as a gesture of appreciation for rescuing Pearl (even though he's 3 girlfriends past Pearl at this point). I believe that the cover of this issue is a metaphor of sorts: As Indy holds onto the edge of the cliff, he also holds onto the last grasps of his own morality. Will he do the right thing and return the book? Or keep it for himself? That's why the man on top of the cliff is using a bullwhip, which is Indy's usual weapon. It's almost as if Indy himself (his own possibly suspect morality) is the one forcing him over the edge.

So, yea, of course I just made all of that up. But it's a cool cover!

Hard to top movie and comic mash ups, especially when you get something like this!  Marvel Indy, and specifically by one of the most underrated artists IMO in Mr. Keith Pollard!  Atypical art for a typical Indy scene :)  Congrats!
