DescriptionAnother SDCC 2022 pickup via The 2022 San Diego Felix Con cover drop! When Daniel Warren Johnson came out to the west coast for a store signing on December 4 2021, Felix invited myself, Kent Mansley, Yo Kuri, Jason K, John Butler, John Fleske and others to dinner with with him. We had some Q Kola (he didn't like it, too much conspiracy, not enough flavor) and he brought up his next project for DC with a Dinosaur Justice League. You know I had to say that a Dino Avengers would have worked too. Jurassic League!! That's perfect. My favorite character is the one at the bottom. So cool looking. The swirly clouds and rocky crags make for a really effective background. Daniel Warren Johnson, YOU are now on my radar.

That's a great anecdote, Marcus. A wonderful example of serendipity! This has to be one of the craziest ideas for a comic I've ever heard of, even though it plays on two of the biggest loves of most "boy inside the man". Love dinosaurs? Check. Love superheroes? Check. Then you'll LOVE dinosaurs AS superheroes! Congrats on nailing this one down.

Jurassic League of Pangea! "JuLP" sounds WAY better than "JLAh" any day of the week (and almost onomatopoeiac, when you consider what it'll sound like when they eat everyone). It's just too bad that DWJ has yet to figure out how to capture off-the-hook crazy action and brilliant drama in his art. I'd wager he'll figure it out one of these tries...

I loved this cover! I also tried to snag this but clearly i'm a slower speed dinosaur. But what great reinterpretations of some classic characters - every kid's definition of the greatest mashup!

Perfect example of DWJ - I can get lost looking at his work - so much goodness to soak in. I feel a pull into the DWJ abyss and might have to find my own perfect piece. Congrats Marcus - this is exceptional.

All 3 characters look ragin'! Like the depth too with the one on the bottom being closest and Supes in the air at the back! DWJ's stuff just exudes energy and this is a killer example. Also dig them swirling clouds around the league! How can you NOT like you some super dinos?! Congrats, man!
