DescriptionHappy Fourth of July 2023 everyone! This is the cover to Captain America #699 by Chris Samnee. It's got Hulk and Thing about to battle with Cap in the middle of them. Although they all appear in the issue, this scene didn't actually play out. It's was Samnee's chance to do a Hulk vs Thing cover so he did a cover that he and all of us wished for. If this gets used for Dueling Dealers, can Bill wear that tight Captain America mask for that entire show? That's my fireworks haul for 2023. Only 5 things. I was told not to hoard and there was enough left over from last year (see additional images). A limited amount of "No Comment" stickers will be made available free of Charge at SDCC 2023 while I'm at the Albert Moy booth! Social/Sharing |

Nice one! I really liked the Samnee run. Wish he could have stayed longer. Totally underrated storyteller.

There's gonna be some real fireworks when these two behemoths clash! Cap doesn't stand a chance holding these two apart.

Really nice cover. Does Samnee print out his pencils digitally then ink them, or is he using blue pencil? Anyway, keep your fingers safe on Tuesday!

He prints out from a thumbnail. Then he pencils some on the back to alter and tighten up the figures. You can see Hulk's arm position was raised (it is based on the pencils on the back). Then he draws with detail using inks on the front. The debris is automatic for him.

Ah, okay. That's how Brad Walker began to work as well. Draw the little thumbnails digitally and then blow them up and print them out. But no work on the back side.

Hey, it's great you've been told not to hoard JUST fireworks. It means you can hoard artworks at will! ;) BTW, that's an amazing cover!

That is one hot cover, I wouldn't keep it that close to the fireworks. 🎆 Samnee is an incredible artist.

OMG! Your fireworks haul gets bigger every year! I hope you live in a smoke free home. Either way, I've already ordered several HIGHLY FLAMMABLE and NO SMOKING signs for you. Try not to blow yourself up tomorrow. Oh, and nice Cap sandwich cover by the way.

The Wai is strong in this one. But what the hell is Cap doing? Brave, perhaps insane, he is.

Fabulous image. Can't help but wonder if Samnee is at all influenced by Steve Rude after looking at this cover. Contracts Marcus!

Samnee is a beast. That Crotch Goblin firework though is the real star of the show.

That piece is LIT, man. Not sure you should keep it close to that other stuff in the pic. Star spangled OA and fireworks - what a match they make! And Samnee...dude is oh so good. Cap may have good intentions here but I think he best get to movin' pretty soon. Congrats, Marcus, and hope you had a happy 4th!

Wow! Killer cover, Marcus! As a huge Cap fan, I'm jealous. Samnee's run was far too short on the series and this is one of his better covers, featuring A list characters. Congrats!

Where was I when you posted this beauty?! Giving blood, helping at the local animal shelter, rescuing good citizens of OKC from nefarious criminals? Whatever it was, that's no excuse to have not seen this post

You can't go wrong with Hulk vs Thing - the most classic heavyweight battle in the MArvel Universe. This is incredibly fantastic! Congrats

Hulk vs Thing was always a fun concept, but with Cap stuck in the middle it looks like a must read ! Awesome cover !

Seriously AMAZING artwork! Hilarious how blase Cap is in his almost effortless pose holding back 2 of Marvel's Prime Powerhouses.
I'm calling this: Cap go Splat!

He's done so many great covers since this one, but I find myself revisiting it again and again... perfect marriage of artist and subject matter. His Hulk is just right.
