DescriptionA Christmas miracle gifted to me by Lance Suarez! I wanted to get this cover and made offers even before Mike Burkey's make offer show 11/22/23. I wanted this cover because the 'gun-toting bad guy" had an uncanny resemblance to one of the Dueling Dealers of Comic Book Art and it had his little buddy Mandrake the Magician. It was published in Turkey as Sihirbaz #40. I was first to send in an offer for this piece, and had to wait for his camera to stop stuttering on the show, only to be told it was on hold already. My Mike Turkey day wish was dashed and I walked away with nothing. Three weeks later, I opened my Christmas gift from Lance. I opened a box and on top were the Cyclops and Wolverine figures. The next layer was a Simpsons hardcover book. Under that was an Avengers coloring book. Then at the bottom was this cover which left me in shock! Lance had bought it out from under me just for this moment! Pretty cool of Mike Burkey to keep it a secret as well. What was kind of a joke turns into something sentimental that I will always remember. Have a Merry Christmas everyone!PS: Where in the world is Crotch Goblin? Back in the states… Social/Sharing |

If anything in your collection deserves a custom frame, it's this piece! Just remember to get a dark frame, with a double mat. The under mat should be a red to match Turkey's jacket and hat, while the top mat should be a nice, bright green to catch all the green in the background and foreground. Merry Christmas!

The way the color is applied reminds me of how Richard Sala used color in his later work. Very cool

What a wonderfully happy ending to what started as a disappointing 'art miss' -- and a VERY thoughtful gift/surprise from Lance! I'm hoping that every piece of art I JUST missed out on this year ends up at the bottom of a gift box. Oh wait, Christmas is over. Oh well, maybe they are waiting til next Christmas to REALLY draw out the surprise unveiling. One can only hope! Haha! Hope you have a wonderful New Year's Eve and 2024, Marcus!
