Description

Picked up this beauty of an illustration from the 2024 Baltimore comic convention charity auction! Watercolor by Paul Chadwick of his signature character Concrete from back in 1992.

Although created back in the early 90s during the height of Paul's creative work on Concrete this piece never saw publication. The scan does the piece justice but what you can't see is the soft line work and warm watercolor on the piece. Truly a work of an unsung master.

Concrete is a literal tree hugger and mourns when there is mass deforestration. The ecological conscience of indie comics. Chadwick's signature creation still inspires us to live a less wasteful life and be mindful of the environment.
