DescriptionI bought this from one of the early Sotheby's or Christie's auctions. Actually, I bought it after the auction. It didn't sell, so I called and made an offer. Something like 8 years later, I got some of the purchase price back in some sort of class-action suit against the auction house. The only piece of art I've ever owned that paid a cash dividend without having to sell it.I love the idea of Smith and Jones together on Superman and Batman. The art's a little loose, but hey, there's only two such pages existing. Social/Sharing |

Yesiree, that's a great page... Two of my all time faves in an all too rare collaborative effort. Thanks for sharing it!

I look at this page often when I visit your gallery. The right-half of my brain thinks, "They got BWS and Jeff Jones to draw Batman, Superman and Lex Luthor in his Lexorian warsuit, and all they could think to do was to give them a talking-head sequence." And the left-half of my brain thinks, "Holy $%&#! They got BWS and Jeff Jones to draw Batman, Superman and Lex Luthor in his Lexorian warsuit!"

As if the legendary combination wasn't enough, it's one of only two in existense. Wow! I love that some of the stylistic signatures are still evident. The facial close ups are so obviously Barry. While the figures at the bottom are so obviously Jeff. The only way this page could be beat was if you also had Mike and Bernie on it. Then you'd have the entire Studio on one page! Sigh, if only.

When I first read this book as a kid, I didn't appreciate the significance of the pairing of these two artists, but I knew enough to realize that the art stood out as something special. An amazing page.

Holy BWS, Batman! Look up on the page, it's a bird, it's a plane, no it's Jeff Jones! I never knew DC was blessed by these 2 great talents. Congrats on this beauty!

Absolutely gorgeous piece. Such a pleasure to come across such a lyrically perfect combination of masterful artists.
