DescriptionI'd contacted Adi Granov before the con to see if he was doing any commissions for the Wizard World Chicago 2008 con. He said he was only doing freebies at his signings because he didn't have a table in artist's alley. I was looking forward to getting one of the freebies and had planned to wait in line at his Friday afternoon signing. He had a signing on Thursday evening which I skipped trying to get on as many sketch lists as possible. Jump to the next morning and I'm in line waiting to get into the con and started chatting up the guy next to me. He had seen Adi at the signing the previous evening and had an Iron Man sketch. I said to him that it was a shame he wasn't doing any full pieces. The gentleman I was talking to said that Granov told him that at the last minute they gave him an artists alley table and he would take four commissions for the con and the guy was able to be first on the list. Just my luck, his table was next to Olivier Coipel's. I was waiting at Coipel's table for about an hour and he hadn't arrived on time. Then Adi arrived and was hit up by one guy who took the next two commission spots. Another kid was in front of me and asked about getting a commission. Luckily the kid said no and I was number four. It took him all day Sunday to do my piece but I was very happy with the results. For my patience he threw in a limited edition print of his cover to the Omnibus collection. Hope you guys like this one.Social/Sharing |
