DescriptionMy latest cover for a new Xmen book that mashes up some nostalgic '90's Xmen with some of the newer Hickman written Krakoa story elements. Artistically, it's always a blast for me to revisit these characters from that magical time in comics. Hope you like!Social/Sharing |

So define "probably." LOL! Seriously though Scott, I love how you are continuing to carve out your identity as a penciller. Your work gets stronger and more confident with each incredible, new, piece. This one is stunning! Love how, instead of the standard group shot, you chose to feature each character in a different scale. One headshot, one waist-up, one full figure, and even a few miniatures. Great composition and design.

Thanks Eric. This old dog doesn't know many new tricks, but he keeps on keeping on. Appreciate you for the encouragement!

Fantastic cover, your mix of 90's X-Men with current Krakoan elements is truly great, thank you for sharing with us on here. Full of nostalgia and I look forward to getting this book when it comes out in April. Very X-citing!!!

Really wonderful looking work, Scott! I'm curious, where would you say your confidence/desire level is at, in terms of giving storytelling a go?

I've drawn a few stories and confidence in my sorytelling was never a problem. Speed, productivity and endurance were the issue, and I was ultimately given better opportunities and paid far more as an inker than a as a penciller.

Yes, I recall seeing you on pencilling duties back in the day, but have you done any in very recent times? I'm not a monthly comic buyer anymore, so I might've missed it if you had. Glad to hear confidence was never the issue, though my question pertains more to the present. Just curious , now that you've been getting a lot of pencilling assignments on covers, if you're happy keeping the pencilling to covers or if you have any interest in pencilling stories today.

Haven't drawn a new story in about 12 years. No real itch to do so. Covers are a fun, cost effecient and less stressful diversion for me at this point of my career.

NICE you should be proud, it's really a stunning well drawn cover...and well inked. It's unlike you to forget to give props to the inker! Wonder who it was ; )
