DescriptionThis incredible commission was not one that I had initially thought of to ask John Byrne to draw. In previous conversations, JB had mentioned that he had an idea of a scene set in the Savage Land featuring all of the X-Men characters he had drawn caught in a dinosaur stampede. When JB informed me that I was due another commission I asked him if he would like to get the Dinosaur Stampede out of this head and onto a board; happily he decided the time was right to do so!If folks are interested in some additional background of this piece, please check out the the following: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKXfrrSZLC0&feature=youtu.be It's at about the 1:20 mark that we discuss this piece. Many thanks again to Bill Cox, Will Gabri-El, and the Mighty Romitaman for inviting me to join their show and for making me feel so welcome! Social/Sharing |

A defining exclamation point to a glorious 50-year career! I'll admit to being one of the skeptics who wondered if Byrne had anything left in his tank. Well, you can't see me now, but I am actually on my hands and knees begging forgiveness for ever doubting it. Can't even put into words how ridiculously good this is. Happy New Year indeed.
