Funny you should mention the corrections, It is cool to see that evevn after 20 years of strips he still needed to make corrections and foten. I have found the strips after the first few years of Canyonn to have a decent amount of white out. Makes me wonder if he used a lot more assistants to ink his work or if he just got more fussy with details as he got older?

Very cool strip. I do believe you are correct in that Caniff did a lot more correcting as the series progressed and I too always attributed that to the increased use of assistants. The art still looks great. I am reading Canyon for the first time and am only at about '52 so glad to see Doe Redwood back on the page and in the air again. I am looking forward the Holly Hale story as I have some art connected to that too. Fun stuff!

Yeah Doe seems a big part of the 1955 strips. I should read through the canyon I have one of these days. I was a bit truned off by the whole Red scare the big goofy miner mustache guy but it seemed to get better In the 50's

A Caniff comic strip is a grail. Just look at that beautiful and expressive figurework! Congratulations, Matt.
