I used to own the cover to this and foolishly sold it. Well, I like this page 1 better anyhow. The friendship these two have is still my favorite in all of Marveldom. George is so George- selfishly I wish he would have stayed on the Avengers his entire career. Here is HA write up-
George Pérez and Dan Green The Avengers #198 Splash Page 1 Original Art (Marvel, 1980). Wonder Man and Beast wander the streets after a night out on this opening title splash. A light-hearted beginning to "Better Red Than Ronin!", a story in which Earth's Mightiest Heroes battle a giant robot. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Slight toning, stat header and indicia paste-ups, with light handling wear. Signed by Pérez in the image area and in Excellent condition.

What a beautiful bromance these two had! And it's easy to miss all the wonderful detail in both the writing and the art! George nails NYC vibe of that time - stacks of garbage bags piled up under the lampposts on the lower left, for example, lol. Congrats!

I would have liked an issue of the these two in a Hangover styled story.

An awesome page right here!

I actually think this was one of the first Avengers comics I ever bought off the spinner rack in a local newsagent (It had a giant robot on the cover, what's not to love?)
