DescriptionOne step closer in my goal and this is a really cool page. This is the 3rd time it popped up on auction, which always looks really fishy to me (anyone else? but I guess market manipulation is an ugly part of the hobby we all love so much. Being the 3rd time means to me their manipulation didn't work). Anyways back to the positive. I was and am a big fan of Green's inks on Byrne, loved this storyline, great characters, some cosmic goodness in the middle panel and zip-a-tone. Count me in! Here is HA's write upJohn Byrne and Dan Green The Avengers #191 Story Page 11 Original Art (Marvel, 1980). John Byrne provides the breakdowns for this page retelling the origin of the Gray Gargoyle, including his battles with Thor and the Avengers. Dan Green expertly finishes the seven-panel sequence in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Panels 3 and 5 are stripped-in art corrections, taped in from the reverse side. The text in Panel 3 is a stat paste-up. There is toning, a tear in Panel 2 mended by tape, a production trimmed top left corner, blue pencil editorial marks, whiteout touch-ups, a page number paste-up at the bottom, and light handling wear. Signed by Byrne in the bottom margin, and in Very Good condition. Social/Sharing |

The rounded corners signal vital recaps so new readers can catch up and not feel the daunting pressure to track down old issues in an age when reprints and collections was only made for a few titles. It's cool to see how much Byrne and Green could cover when it is contained to less than a page. Did the Falcon raid Grey Gargoyle's liquor cabinet?

Cool page Kirk! It was such a treat to get Byrne back for this run after the Nefaria epic. Love it!
