Description

This particular daily example of Quincy is from 3/26/71, the first full year of the strip. It features Shearer's wonderful use of Zip-a-tone, which he applied in a painterly fashion, applying broad swatches of tone on various forms throughout the strip. I love the deceiving ease of Shearer's pen line. He maintained such expressiveness, even as he created both spaces and characters. In the end though, this strip is just pure philosophical sweetness.
