Description"Helen in Search of a Charming Prince." Illustration for the series "Love Through the Ages" by Smith, published in The Atlanta Constitution, March 26, 1933. Pen, ink, and wash on thick paper. The Image above is a digital photo that I have had to manipulate a bit with a perspective tool and so not the best image but the best I could do. The inks are more vibrant in person than the image suggests.

What an exquisite work of art! In fact, I must admit I never heard of this artist before, but looking at this gorgeous page and especially at girls poses and expressions, I've immediately thought of Jeff Jones' Idyl

Great pick up, Jeff! We were bidding against each other. I picked up the other one, and will post it in the next couple days!

Ahhh... the sweet smell of victory. I've been lusting for a Dan myself, but only for a couple of years, so it is just that you should get yours first. And what a lovely one. 'grats.

A really terrific piece, Jeff! Congrats! There were a bunch of Smith originals that turned up many years ago, but they were quickly absorbed into the markeplace. They're back to being scarce as hell. This one is a real honey.
