DescriptionI got this piece in an even trade for my previous Ace McCoy daily. I like both of them equally and so happy to make the trade get some new art in. Here are 2 great Frazetta girl illustrations and some thugs from this fun strip.I might be in the minority, but I think Frazetta's pen and ink work was his best skill and whomever put a pain brush in his hands did the world of comics and illustration a great disservice. The two panels with the "Frazetta Girl" are impressive, but don't overlook the expression on Ace's face and clenched fist in the last panel. The rage is palpable.

Tasty inking and wonderful body language... Frazetta comic art is still tops!

The Flying Graysons don't know what hit 'em. Bwahaha!!! Frazetta sure knows how to draw 'em and frame the evil in a pretty package.

A beautiful strip, Jeff. I need to find this collected somewhere and give it a read.

Love the expressions in this example - and the first panel too!

If it weren't for his painted covers and movie posters, I might not have discovered Frazetta's art as a twelve year old, or even later, so I'm grateful for his color efforts; but yes, his pen, brush, and ink work is as good as it gets IMHO.

Al Capp wasted years that Frazetta could have been drawing amazing comics...

I think Frank got into illustration because the comic work dried up after the industry imploded following the implementation of the comics code. He wasted some of his best years doing Al Capp impressions. You do what you have to do to make a buck and from reading about him, think he had struggles at the time, like so many others. I am just glad he made money later on and got the rewards his talent deserved. The history of art is littered with those who did not. One of my heroes, Hannes Bok being one and Virgil Finlay, a towering talent who made very little.

Growing up and long before I knew comic art I knew Frank's paintings and love them. My comment is that through the lens of a comic art collector who laments not having more comic art by Frank out there. Completely selfish perspective. Like you, I am glad he did his paintings and had success. He might have gone on to be a forgotten comic artist if he hadn't had that trendous success in fantasty art paintings.

Kiro was great. I think around this time Frank was putting out the best panel work in the series which displayed his incredible talent for drawing absolutely gorgeous women. A shame this strip was so short lived. This daily is absolutely stunning.
