From Olden Times: This commission by Alan Kupperberg was completed in the Fall of 2005. I asked Alan to re-visit his work on Marvel Two-in-One # 45, starring the ever-loving Thing and Captain Mar-vell. Alan came up with a series of seven story-related commission prelims and gave me the opportunity to choose the one I liked best. I was also asked if I'd like the commission to be drawn on vintage Marvel cover stock... You can guess how fast I said yes to that offer.
An odd aspect of MTIO 45 is that there is not much in the way of new story to work with... a good chunk of the book is spent recapping Fantastic Four # 91. Alan ended up using pieces from a FF 91 flashback and pieces from MTIO 45 to create this new drawing.

Update: This drawing has now been colored by the great Bob Sharen (who happens to be an original MTIO colorist from back in the day). Bob printed out a cleaned up, full size, high resolution scan of this drawing onto a new art board, then applied his colors to that copy. The result is stunning to behold. My thanks to Gerry T for
