Description

This is one of 3 try-out pages from 1987 that got Simon his first job in Comics at 2000AD in the UK. He later re-drew the whole page( as page 4), then it was printed in the extensive A.B.C. WARRIORS story arc “The Black Hole”, starting in issue #555, written by 2000AD founder Pat Mills, who still writes all A.B.C. Warriors stories. The story arc was reprinted in various tradepaperbacks, buy one - for a superb, violent and funny read! Excessive details on this very large art piece including many main A.B.C. characters: Hammerstein, Joe Pineapples, Mongrol and Blackblood. Everything you'd expect in a Bisley's page from A.B.C. Warriors, plus a lovely chick which doesn't hurt. Just great!

Super stuff, it's great to see how close his tryout was to the actual page, but also how much he came on too...these are fine pages and I'd love to see them published as bonus material in any future collection..

Wow! What an insanely cool tryout page for Simon Bisley! This is truly jawdropping! A crazy smorgasbord of characters, all masterfullly drawn and beautifully inked! No wonder they hired him!
