Description

This interior page features the Incredible Hulk escaping from Captain Omen's vessel.  The Hulk is out of his depth once he makes his escape.

From the GCD:

Trying to make his way home, Hulk leaps from iceberg to iceberg as he attempts to cross the ocean but eventually ends up in the water. He is immediately attacked by a U.S. submarine which he tears to pieces. As both Hulk and the sub sink, they are saved by Captain Omen and brought aboard his ship. Once Hulk realizes that Omen wants to use him as a servant in his bid to claim the ocean floor as his own, Hulk tries to escape. Using the pressure of the deep ocean as a trap, Omen dooms the Hulk to walk the ocean floor under his command forever. Fury makes planes to rescue Ross.

What a sequence by Trimpe!  From high action smashing by the Hulk to defeat.  That 3rd tier with 6 panels is very dramatic to see as Hulk succumbs to the bends, showing that brawn is not over brains.  Had the Banner intellect kicked in before this escape attempt, he would have known not to try this.

Fantastic page from a brilliant story! Trapani's inks are great on Trimpe, and aew really crisp on this action-packed page.
