Description

Another of Bolland's cover prelims from Grant Morrison's amazing run on Animal Man. This is a really nice one, both with the level of detail in the "prelim" (still don't think Bolland entirely grasps that concept), and the fact that this was one of the Mirror Master issues. That character played a very important role more than once, on both sides of the coin, over the course of Morrison's storyline, but this was his first appearance in that run. Love the shading on Animal Man, and the facial expression. Thanks again to Marc Mokken for letting this go, I really enjoy this one!

I currently have one of these prelims (#19, which is a bit rougher than this one), and when I have shown my collection to other artists, they always stop to look at it and, usually, they say something along the lines of, "Bolland's prelims are better than most other artists' finished artwork."

Remarkably detailed and fun 'prelim' which is in practice a fully-fleshed-out cover design with all the bell and whistles! Amazing catch!
