One of the things that's particularly great about this cover is that it runs counter to most of Eisner's post-1952 Spirit work. When he was finished with The Spirit back then, he was FINISHED. Like: 90% of the work he did -- covers, sketches, pin-ups -- were rehashes or generic crime scenes that were often really good but rarely brilliant. This, however, is 5 star fantastic. He uses women here in a way he never did in the 1950s and the extra space in the layout is another thing he exploited very well. It's an "adult" piece of art and it's really terrific. Me, I'd get rid of the Kitchen Sink and "Spirit" logo -- I like the logo he drew, the bricks, better. Incredible piece of art you have there.
