Descriptionin Addition to doing Silver Starr , Secret Agent Corrigan and other comics- Austrailian Stanley Pitt did illustraion. This is my favorite piece by him- a cover for the short lived Visions of Tomorrow sci-fi magRE Greg's comment themagazien was produced in 1970 so this is psot Steranko shield- jim I thinlk was drawing o nthe source ir the original surrealists when he did his work (though that would be an interesting thing to ask hio mthe next time I see him) I haven't read it yet but I think the cover illo is actually a scene from the story! So what year was this done and can the magazine be found anywhere? I learned of Pitt's work due to Sense of Woinder #10 and while that is dazzling this is even more incredible. I think Steranko owes him a debt 'cause he sure look like an influence. If he wasn't exposed to these he would certainly kill to have done something this cool 'cause this notches up the surrealism without being obvious.

It was used as an example of his work in one of the early overview books o nsci-fi art (though they just sold the magazine) Saw it then i nthe 1970's but never thought I would own it

I think Greg's comment here is very astute. Surely this is at least in part where Jim Steranko and his classic '60s style come from. What a lovely painting!

I am a HUGE fan of everything Pulp Fiction (Not the movie), and this is such a beautiful example.
Congratulations on owning this piece.
