Description12 Years! That's how long ago I first saw this piece in the original owner's collection! 12 Years! That's how long I've thought about this piece in my mind, wanting to one day add it to my Elementals collection! Persistence does pay off in this hobby, as does a strong offer to finally acquire a long-desired piece! Thank you to the original owner who was a great steward of this art for these many years, and for allowing me to finally acquire it after many years and many inquiries! Thank you to my good friend Mike for picking this piece up for me out of state and for hand delivering it to me in its original frame! It's great to have good friends in this hobby that can help each other out and ask for nothing in return. I love that this piece was drawn all the way back in 1984, and it's cool that Joe DelBeato inked it so beautifully! Possibly the only time they collaborated on a piece together. The original owner relayed to me that he was friends with Willingham back in the day and commissioned him to pencil a piece with all 4 members. Also being friends with DelBeato, he then asked him to ink this piece. I don't believe this was ever published as it remained hidden in his private collection for all these years. I apologize for any reflections on the top of the photo, as it is sealed in its original frame. A vintage, classic piece finally to be displayed for all Elementals fans to enjoy!Social/Sharing |

HOLY S#!T! From 1984, too!! Characters and style could be right from the iconic cover. Magnificent condition too! How wonderful!

Drawn just as they looked when they were the hottest indie for those few years in the 80's!

Wow Rich this is an amazing find! A true treasure from those nostalgic days of the 1980s when every trip to the comic shop was a thrill - Comico was on fire and the Elementals were the top! Willingham at his best.

Fantastic! Absolutely should have been a cover and/or poster. Loved this book for the first couple of years. Congrats!

What a stunning commission of the Elementals!! Gorgeous work by Bill Willingham and Joe DelBeato! The team has never looked better, not even at the height of their success. Such a beautiful group portrait of the four teammates as they display their powers while interrelating with one another. This is better than any of the covers of their books. It should have done as a poster for Comic Con or posted at loal comic book shops. Congratulations for your persistence in chasing this piece. I'm glad the long wait was finally rewarded and you were able to acquire your grail!

Thank you Bill! I agree, it is one of the nicest Elementals pieces by Willingham and even more special that it was drawn around the time he was working on the book. It definitely is worthy to be a published piece in some form. It was a piece I thought about for many years, and I'm honored that the original owner entrusted me to add this to my collection after he owned it for so many years.
