DescriptionI usually don't post new art until I have it in hand, and this page finally arrived today! Since I had purchased the first page to the first historic issue many years ago, when this second page was listed for auction, I knew I had to go all in to try to reunite the pages! We all admit that this page went for a lot more than long time Elementals art collectors are used to paying for these pages. I still remember the days of paying $175-$300 a page for examples from these early issues, so current prices can be jaw dropping. But I also realized if I missed out on this auction that if I ever wanted it down the road, that the price is usually much higher the second time around. So, I dug my feet in and went the distance to secure this one now. What is crazy in this hobby is you can look for years for certain pages, and only when prices start to hit unseen levels do they finally shake free of collections and appear in public auctions. So needless to say, I'm looking for other pages from this issue, particularly pages featuring the main heroes or villains in costume. If you have any, even if they are not for sale, please contact me. Also, if the previous owner who consigned this piece for auction can contact me, I'd love to hear the provenance behind how this was originally acquired. Just remember that todays overpay can be tomorrow's bargain, no matter what we paid for it.Social/Sharing |

This is one that you don't ever want to sell, so it's the right price.

Regarding the consignor, these early Elemental pages came from the estate of Chrsitine Farrell, who died earlier this year. She was a former comic shop owner in Burlington, who was renowned for owning a complete collection of all DC comics. Lots of info about her on the Internet.

Jason, that you for that information. Another collector messaged me with some of this info as well. This makes these pages even more cherished now knowing the provenance of such a prominent collection that they came from.
