DescriptionI bought my first page of original art as a young teenager, which means I've wanted a John Romita Gwen Stacy page since that time. Half a lifetime later, here it is, at last! Thanks again to a gracious benefactor for the monumental assist on this.Sharp-eyed viewers may notice that this page also features the very first instance of Natasha squeezing into her trademark skintight black costume, raising the coolness quotient of the art from merely awesome to stupefyingly epic... in my fevered imagination, at least! “The Black Widow’s costume was brought about in an odd way. I had been asking Stan about doing a Miss Fury story, perhaps leading to her own title, but he wasn’t sure. Tarpe Mills’ heroine was another childhood favorite of mine, and Stan had published some comics with Miss Fury in the pre-Marvel days. The greatness of Spider-Man was how the personal life of Peter Parker was just as interesting as the Spider-Man heroics. Beautiful page... congrats!

Blah blah blah Gwen is upset blah blah blah but Peter can't do that because he _is_ Spiderman blah blah blah her dad gives some advice blah blah blah more soul searching blah blah HOLY SHIT The Black F'n Widow is changing into her classic costume for the first time!!!! Wowza. Huge page. Congrats.

Simply amazing addition to your incredible Black Widow collection. Doesn't get any better than this one. The first page of her changing into her new costume!!! Wow!!! If you wake up someday and realize that Natasha isn't the most spectacular female creation in the Marvel Universe and want to part with it, please let me know.

Is it just me or is the Romita/Mooney Black Widow the hottest? Somehow she looks her bust, err... I mean best in the pages of this book. Congrats.

What a page! Pete, Gwen, and the Black Widow in her new outfit. (But as nice as that is, I still like her fishnet ensemble better.) This is when comics were comics, and what a great time to be a comic book reader.

Holy Smokes! What an amazing Amazing Spider-Man page! I love pages about Peter and his personal problems as much as the ones about his exploits as Spider-Man. And to have a page that includes Gwen Stacey...Well! Beautifully drawn scenes by Romita throughout with nice inks by Jim Mooney. Then, to top it all off, there's that killer final panel with the Black Widow! Talk about the cherry topping the Sundae! Love it!
