Description

Backstory: I got into comics in 1977 when I was 13. About 2 years prior to that, while on a family vacation, my Dad bought us a copy of Savage Tales #6. Since this is the one and only comic book (well, ok, comic magazine) he ever got me and my little brother, my guess is, it was the spectacular Neal Adams cover that caught his eye. I remember being mesmerized by that cover painting of Kazar battling a stampede of prehistoric beasts. (As a side note, the semi-nude Buscema femme fatale in the interior story really �stirred� something in me too.) Fast forward to 2001. While away with my own family on vacation, I missed the eBay auction for this ink re-creation of the two central figures. Luckily, my bud Jason Adams had my back and hooked me up. 11x14 (signature is cropped in the scan.)

I would kill to own that original Savage Tales cover. I saw it in person at his NY Comic Art Gallery exhibition in 1978!

I"m with you Joe. I have a 24 x36 Giclee of this in my family room. Triva: Anybody else ever notice how Neal conveniently ignores Gay-Zars swashbuckler boots. He left them off his other Savage Tales cover that features Kevin Plunder too.
