I seriously hope that this is framed for all to see but I can imagine that to be quite an exercise :) Great catch Ben, really nice piece (s).. John

Hello Ben! That's an AWESOME set! So you're the one who got em all! :) I've only got maybe 4 or 5 pages of fully pencilled and inked (not on print outs) pieces by Whilce so I guess I'd like to hold on to them. But they're nothing like yours man! That must look terrific framed up on a wall.

Wow - were you able to get them in 1 shot, or did you have to piece it over time?

When I was 13, I completed this image by getting all of the comic books.....and I thought that was an acomplishment! Well done Ben!

The question I have is whether or not you picked up that crappy Liefeld cover that came out the same time as these Wildstorm books... You know the one that has the same background but doesn't fit in with the interlocking covers and was used purely to decive people........ I think it was a Youngblood cover, if memory serves correct..

Sorry, Ben.... I didn't comment on how much this piece kicks ass in my first comment.... I was happy just to own the books back in the day and to see all the original art posted interlocked is rather awe inspiring.

too crazy yeah. I would love to see all of em framed in one ! do it ben do it :P

The problem with framing is finding a place to hang the frame. NO use putting it in a frame when the walls aren't big enough to handle such a MASSIVE piece. When I have my bigger house with my room/office/play I'll for sure be framing it!

I vaguely remember seeing this up for auction on ebay minus 1 cover several years ago. I'm glad you were able to hunt down that last cover. And to think, I used to get excited seeing a wraparound cover or DPS. This is truly impressive. Cheers! N.

Every time I see this, I get a little sad because I will never be able to own this. You will never sell, and I could never afford it anyway:( This is the ultimate Wildstorm Grail from my favorite period of my favorite comics! I will forever be envious of this thing of beauty! A heartfelt congrats for the greatest score in the world (to me at least:)!!

OMG! That is so utterly cool! That has to go down as one of the greatest scores in comic art history. Congrats! If you ever get it framed, you'll have to let us see how it turns out.

I'm going to take a guess that the last cover you got was the Team 7 cover. You need to pay Whilce to fill in the background on that one. It's the only flaw in this awesome work.

Hi TC. I just need a couple thousand extra dollars and a huuge wall to put it on. The piece is 44" by 34" big.

Ben, I have visited your gallery many times, I have no clue why I have never commented on this fantastic work of art. Actually, works of arts! I look at this and find myself wondering, what the heck was Whilce thinking? At one time there was a three foot by four foot Of empty space staring back at him! A masterpiece! I am left speechless, which is hard to do!

Maria, I agree. I'm speechless every time I pull these beauties out. That's high praise coming from someone with a collection as awesome as yours :) Will you be at the Secaucus art show this weekend?

Abe, right up your collecting sweet spot huh? These pieces are truly some of whilce's best work outside of X-Men and X-Factor. I love them, and when you put them all together it is absolutely huge.

I just happened to be going through an old comic box of my Image stuff, and I came across these covers after years of not seeing them. To see the original inks here is a real treat!

Ben, it's a shame you don't have them anymore (and a shame that the new owner has posted these up in his/her own gallery), but I'm wondering if you know what the story behind the top left/Team 7 panel is? Why does it not look like it was originally drawn to be in with the rest of the covers? Was there another planned comic that was going to be use before it was slipped in, or did Whilce just get tired at the very end and kinda just added in T7 without (as much) effort?

Thanks! =)

The inker ran out of time and they added the two missing backgrounds digitally instead of by hand. That's what he told me when I asked him to put them in by hand.

And agreed. I never should have sold them

Thanks for the reply =) I didn't even notice the lower right panel missing the backgrounds, lol. The Team7 cover not having much cross over/blending stuff from the other images other than the jacket from the panel below makes it look that much like an afterthought image =)

Thanks again!
