I love Byrne's early color pieces, when he used colored markers! And this is one of the Best from that time period!

I have always had a special place in my heart for this cover. This was one of my earliest exposures to Byrne's art (I was a little too young to have bought first run, but I acquired it, probably at a swap meet when i was 10 or 11) and it is a thrill to see - and it's in color, too!

Ooooo--How did I miss commenting on this? Awesomely heroic John Byrne cover for Space 1999! Well composed scene set inside a spaceship with two handsome astronauts at the controls! This has such a cool 1960's feel to it, from back in the day when guys like Alan Shepard and John Glenn were American heroes. I love the Byrne's clean layout here, not to mention the simple, but beautiful color palette he used. Fabulous pick-up!

This is fabulous. I'm a huge fan of John Byrne and Space: 1999. I own two original scripts from season 2. Charlton comics were some of my favorite books.
