DescriptionThere was something you could see on the original art that wasn’t really visible on the published page because the print and logos were simply too small. And, it went to just how insidious and pervasive a villain Lex Luthor really was in Byrne’s new world, in remolding Luthor as a businessman/tech mogul over his mad scientist beginnings. In this new version, he’s hiding in plain sight, and the world over just thinks of him as a tech & services provider. In Jimmy Olsen’s tenement, the TV brand is a LEXITRON, the cable box is hooked up to LEXCABLE, and in the Daily Planet newsroom, the offices are filled with LEXCORP computers! Luthor has completely permeated their lives, just as he has infested Metropolis, and no one thinks twice. That is a different kind of villain.
