DescriptionWith the new Dredd 3d movie being released worldwide next week I figured it would be a good time to share some of my favorite Judge Dredd pieces from my collection. This page is from the CLASSIC "Dark Judges" story. Originally published in 2000AD Prog 227 as page #20 from this incredible story. Judges Dredd and Anderson face off against Judge Death, Judge Fear, and Judge Mortis. This is the well-remembered "MANTRAP!!" page. and is also know as the moment Dredd is asked to "Gaze into the Face of Fear." I wonder how he'll react to that. lol One of the all time greatest stories in comics and my favorite work by the living legend Brian Bolland. Every line so precise, every image incredibly well drafted. It's sequential storytelling as good as I've ever seen it. This page works really well to explain what's happening on that "other" page I posted. They go together like PB & J. Social/Sharing |

Dredd is looking into the face of fear...if you could see mind, my jaw is dropped to the ground. Amazing page from a very, very memorable story. Congrats Chris!!!!

The greatest "complementary" page ever. The other page is a classic...add this one to it, and it's pure Bolland/Dredd heaven.

As a standalone page, this is hard to beat - but when you pair it with the following one... I'm awestruck. Amazing, incredible imagery that was burned into my brain since I first read it in the Prog. Superb!

Judge Fear just absolutely puts it on a tee for Judge Dredd!

Just stunning!! You don't add a lot but when you do you make it count.

These two pages together are pretty much the definition of a "perfect moment" in a comic. The art is absolutely beautiful all by itself, but the narrative moment it's highlighting is pretty much the essence of Judge Dredd. Wonderful.

Standing alone...this page is INCREDIBLE! Having the money shot (with the following page) in your collection...UNREAL!!!

I really should have bought this page when it was offered as a possibility to me.

You know why this has 13 comments and the next page has 40? This one does not have someone punching right through someones skull, while saying a James Bond, Bruce Willis or Arnie, jokey comment. I blame action heroes for pages receiving less comments than they deserve. Lol. I can see Dredds report. 'Its not brutality. He was already dead.'
