Recreated in 1994.
The Legion Chain Gang
originally published in 1967

Universo has taken over the Presidency and has outlawed the Legion.
The captured Legionaries are imprisoned and forced to work on a chain gang which is illustrated on this iconic cover.

Superboy and Mon-El being used as slave labor in a jewel mine? There was a time when I would've hated the concept for its childishness, but these days I see the silliness as pure fun. It's so great to see Swan's pure pencils, which even this late in his life, were absolutely beautiful!

That overseer cracking the whip on the right is very impressive. Has a Biblical Egypt feel to it.
