DescriptionI really don't remember getting so excited over an art purchase. After a while, when/if you get your primary grail---and then create new ones(!) and get a bunch of those....it seems you get somewhat numb to that initial excitement. Technically I'm still waiting for that to happen! But, all kidding aside, this man can paint! It's amazing how tight and incredible Sanjulian is especially comparing to his masterpieces at Warren Publishing, amongst other things. When I was introduced to Warrant Publishing, my first reaction is wow---I want some of these original covers if there's ever a chance. But it was second to me as opposed to original vintage Warren work. Then when Warrant released their second magazine (Carmilla) and I saw the cover of the second issue, I made it my point to try to track it down. After an e-mail or two that was never answered, I gave up. Then, a collecting friend contacted me and asked if I had interest in a painting. I thought I was seeing things! The printed image is a bit different from Sanjulian's original masterpiece---but I like his "vision" even more---creepier! And technically, I'll compare this to ANY cover the man has done at any time period in his career---it is really that good!Social/Sharing |

Disturbing yet beautiful. Wondering how big is it?

It's BIG!!!! 18 x 22...and framed it's probably the biggest painting I have. Yet, the details are fine--which amazes me. As artists get older, many times they painting figures and such larger, because their eyesight and all is not quite what it once one. Sanjulian is 82 years old and this was done about 2 years ago. The detailing is incredible. It is large---but the entire scene is large. The figures and such are relatively small compared to the large size of the painting. And even under magnification, I can't believe how accurate and ornate the painting is

A fantasy bad girl that has a more sinister edge than Vampirella and may be even more blood thirsty with a pile of bodies to satisfy her bloodlust!
