DescriptionAs the Ultimates came out, I would watch Rich's site each month and drool over the originals as soon as he posted them. The good ones went fast. The great ones cost a little more, and often stuck around for a bit because of that.But I never pulled the trigger on any of them. They were just beyond what I could afford at the time. That year at HeroesCon, Hitch was a guest and he and Rich brought along all kinds of great art and prelims for us to pour through. I came away that weekend with the prelim for this page -- a gift from a friend. That was as close as I thought I'd ever get to owning the final art. Fast forward to now and this beauty is hanging on my dining room wall. (Luckily, the wife is a Hitch fan as well.) That's the great thing about this hobby -- if you wait long enough, what you want usually comes back around. Unless it's hanging on my wall. ;-) Social/Sharing |

Hitch's Ultimates were seminal, a watershed moment in modern comics. This is an amazing DPS, museum quality!

One of the best from the series - absolutely love Hitch's work on The Ultimates! Everything is so big and in your face - really knows how to use scale for maximum effect. Lucky to own one DPS and have accepted the fact I'm unlikely to own another. I'll just live vicariously through everyone else... :)
