Great page! Those early Eastman/Laird pages are tough to find.
I'm not likely to get another Kirby any time soon, so I am very happy with this one. Kirby's Skull has such a distinctive look to him, so I was thrilled to grab a page with him (and Zola). Besides, I have PLENTY of pages with Cap on them. Bring on the bad guys!
I've long been a fan of Chris' work. I hope to see this one in person someday!
I'm not sure which Lee is better at drawing: Thing or Spider-Man. Good thing you got both.
What a cool piece! I'd make room on the wall for that.
I really liked Adam's work on these covers. Lois is my favorite, but Ma Kent is a close second.
That's a wonderful SP piece. Great use of solid blacks to pull your eye through.
As a Bachalo collector - this is probably at the top of my want list of Chris' work. One hell of a page.
If only my war chest had been full, I would have given you a run for your money. Great example of a great strip! I'm quite jealous!
I'm a sucker for an artist who does their own thing. And no one does it like Tradd Moore.
Plus hand-drawn type? It can't get much better.
Big Bachalo fan. Big Chamber fan. This cover has everything you could want. Congrats!
This is the kind of behind the scenes stuff I love to see. Plus, it's Adam. Great pick up!
Wow. A TAS splash can’t get better than that.
Lovely! There is nothing I love more in a piece of comic art, than the splotchy brush strokes of ink on paper.
I'd get that tattooed on my ... oh, are we making t-shirts? I'm in. (Great JJJ!!!)
As much as I love the issue with all the spreads, this first issue is just the best.
Jae's work during this period is something else. Really loved his time on the X titles.
I love pieces where the city is the main character. Risso nailed this one.
Helluva write up, and a great page too. Gary hits that sweet spot of story and art for me as well.
It's hard to get better than this ... but I've seen the rest of your collection and I'm sure you'll top it. Great, great image.
What a great JJJ strip.
Spidey and Doc Ock are nice too, I guess.
Literally everything you could want in an Art Adams Batman piece. And probably a few things you didn't even know you wanted. Huge congrats on this one.
This is one of the many I was tracking. Nothing remotely like this ever happened to me, but the antics in this strip have always reminded me of my family. The sign of a great strip is how much everyone can relate to it.
Unfortunately, I failed to get one myself. I thought I was the top bidder in a daily and was shocked to find out my bid didn't register.
The movie sketchbook is a great idea. I need to add something by Chris to mine. ;-)
I love this one. Let's trade.
It is currently 2024. We should have had Deathlok for 30+ years already. The future is so disappointing.
GREAT page. Collectors love their splashes and their covers - but a great example of sequential art, like this one, gets me every time. That strip of small panels - with the narration - really makes this one special.
Gorgeous page. And the Bugle in the background! I loved Immonen on this title.
Adam had some great OAX commissions. This one tops them all. So dynamic.
These early color commissions by CB are amazing. Congrats!
Come for the Wolverine Monkey Army, stay for the poses of our favorite team. That double-barrel Bloodstone? High-flying Tabitha? Machine gun Machine Man?
It's all so good.
I was the underbidder on a great Casey Jones page from this issue. Missing out on that made me hunt down a good example before I was priced out. I'd love to improve on this, but very happy with it for now.
Love the Triceratons! Finding a page from the issue 6 gladiator battle would be a grail-level score for sure.
I remmeber this page well. Great score.
Eastman makes good splatters these days. I really like how his work has evolved. Mutated?
I picked up a few interiors instead. That will have to do.
But if this ever leaves your collection, there's a spot on my wall waiting for it.
And I'll pay more than a dollar. ;-)
I was SO bummed when I had to let this one go at auction. Great cover and a huge nostalgia hook. Congrats!
This page is just the best. The title is easily my favorite that Mignola has worked on.
