DescriptionIn this page, Wolverine confronts 3 members of the Banner gang in front of "Heff's Mansion", after they murdered his family. I really really LOVE this page. How much you ask? Enough to sit around for 9 hours hitting "reload" on the site every 2 to 5 minutes waiting for it to become available. This was bar none my favorite page of Giant Size Old Man Logan, and certainly one of my favorites from the entire Old Man Logan series. I saw this page while reading the issue, and knew that this was the page I would be trying for. Probably the first time I've ever decided on what page to buy from an issue without actually finishing the issue first. For one thing, I love Westerns, and you can't get more Western inspired than this page. The top panel really reminds me of the end of "High Plains Drifter" or "Unforgiven". Very cinematic. Wolverine just looks so......cool. Like a grim specter of death come for vengeance. Since the storyline, especially the first issue, was heavily influenced by "Unforgiven", it only makes sense that the finale of the storyline should pay homage to Westerns as well. In fact, if you look, the far right cockpit of the Banner's Fantasticar has graffiti which reads "Un-4-given", which I thought was cool. For another, the page is just artistically beautiful. One of the most visually impressive in the series, IMO. Vines' inking is amazing! I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that the night sky in the background was inked. Most of the sky backgrounds in the series seem to have been added by the colorist, so it was cool to see that this one was part of the original art. It really adds to the mood of the page. Even in black and white you can feel the heat of the desert breeze and the burning cars.Social/Sharing |

Excellent page my friend! This page is truly 'unforgiven' meets 'mad max' (the 3rd one, beyond thunderdome). This was one of my favorite moments of the issue and I loved the expressions in the middle panel. Also, I enjoyed the imagery McNiven used with the closeup of wolverine's mouth on this page and then on Bruce Banner's on the next page. I thought it tied the two scenes and the two characters together.

Epic addition, Tommy! I can't wait for this series to get collected in trade so i can read it! Just seeing your pages alone makes it seem like such a great tale.
