DescriptionWhile always a fan of the classic adventure strips, as well as classic Peanuts, Calvin and Hobbes is my absolute favorite in both content and execution. While it ran between 1985 and 1995, it beautifully and consistently captured the inner workings of a little boys mind in such clever, inventive and truthful ways. It spoke to the little boy in me and mirrored a lot of what I saw while raising my own two sons. I honestly never thought I would have the opportunity to own such a superb example as there are so few that are publicly available. Maybe a dozen all told? I am honored to be the custodian of this mini masterpiece and am grateful to a couple of my art buddies who really helped make this possible. They know who they are and how important this is to me. Thanks guys!Social/Sharing |

As for me, simply one of the best humour strips of all time for creativity and brilliance: in my heart it's right next to the Peanuts and Pogo... Thanks for sharing!

I was obviously going to be jealous of anyone who won this, but I didn't think it'd be a "comic book" guy! Congrats on a gem that somehow stands out even in your mighty collection!

Love it. Wish the Watterson vault would open on these... if they were as 'cheap' as Peanuts strips, I'd join the club

Nothing like a minor addition and this is nothing like minor! This is a classic C&H strip showing Calvin's selflessness. :) Congratulations!

I clicked the link with my 2 y.o son on my knees and he joyously screamed when he recognized C&H (to whom he's constantly exposed thanks to posters I had made for him): I screamed a lot louder! Congrats, Scott, gorgeous catch!

Scott, you know that you're hated by comic art collectors everywhere, right? But in a good way :0) Seriously, congrats on a major score, by one of the best cartoonists whoever put pen to paper.

C&H is a classic, and knowing how rare Watterson lets anyone have an original piece of work makes this more than grail worthy. Even non-comic fans know and love C&H. Truly a treasure. Congrats!
