DescriptionAdvice given to me when I came into this hobby: "If you find your favorite image of your favorite character drawn by your favorite artist, buy it!"So when the opportunity to acquire my "TRIFECTA" page arrived, I pulled the trigger and couldn't be happier. This is my all-time favorite image of Wolverine by Frank Miller and Joe Rubenstein... a distinguished, incredibly detailed portrait from the end page of Wolverine mini-series #3. It's the climactic scene where Logan confidently proclaims his humanity: "I'm a Man, not a Beast" in defiance of Shingen, his Japanese nemesis. I've always loved Miller's Wolverine mini-series which catapulted fan-favorite Wolverine into an icon and now thrilled to own this page. This image looks amazing in black and white, and better yet framed on my wall. Logan's face can be recognized 30+ feet away! Special thanks to Ken R-- always a pleasure to deal with-- who remembered my interest and, when it came time to sell, came to me directly to work out a deal. Acquiring a personal grail is very exciting and even better when connecting with hobby friends. Social/Sharing |

"If you find ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC PORTRAITS EVER of ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT MARVEL characters done by THE GREATEST MODERN COMIC artist, buy it". Glad to see that your choice followed even THIS advice. You just can't get higher than this, congrats.

Can't believe I've never commented on this one! This is probably the finest CU portrait of Wolverine ever! What a great piece of work by Miller! And Rubenstein's inks are nothing to scoff at either. I love, love, love it!

Without question one of the most iconic images of Wolverine of all-time, and a case where an interior page image is so large and impressive and perfectly drawn that it's superior to most any cover image. And I haven't even mentioned the text, which is not only one of those profound moments for Logan, but something that can resonate with any of us at any time. Love the page, love the write-up on you acquiring it, just magnificent all-around and huge congrats!

I like how Miller mirrored this layout from the last page of the previous issue where Wolvie is at his low point and he feels shame in front of Mariko's horror that he gave into his animal instinct.

While I usually pay little attention to pre-90's art, I did just watch your CAF interview and was struck by the clean sophistication of Rubinstein lines on this. A thing of magic.
