DescriptionThought it was the right time to post this Large Art AWESOME page from my collection featuring the second meeting and first real fight between Spidey and Hulk !!!!A memorable book where the Avengers offer to enroll the web slinger should he be able to bring the Hulk !! Don Heck drew the Avengers as he was the artist entitled by then, Romita drew Spidey and the Hulk ( and I believe also DD who makes a guest appearance ), Esposito inked the whole book but then Romita took the art back in and reworked the Spidey vs Hulk fight displayed in this fabulous page as well as a few others !!! Now for the fun part, Stan Lee who wrote the story made a little mistake in the middle caption where he refreshes the reader's memories : " How about you tiger, remember when they met in Spidey #10 ? ...stoical Stan " Actually Hulk met Spidey in #14 ( famous 1st Green Goblin ) and Hulk's very first appearance outside his 6 issue title is a cameo in one panel of the FF #10 (Jack Kirby's office, the Hulk's head is drawn on a board pinned to the wall ) which IMHO explains Stan's mixed up ! Do I get a NO PRIZE ??? Of course like most pages the scan doesn't do this masterpiece any justice, let's say the art displays twenty times better in real than scanned ! Social/Sharing |
