Ken Z recently passed..he will surely be missed. As the new owner, I wanted to honor Ken's legacy and the incredible Red Sonja pin-up that connected him to so many friends and fellow collectors on CAF.

Your story about Ken raises the reality that we are all just caretakers of all this wonderful art. Some keep art to the very end while others enjoy ownership for a brief period. In the end we are all mortal - but the art will live many lives. Congrats on this pick up!

Very, very well said. I can also see why this piece hit over 98,000 views. It is gorgeous! It's nice that art like this will live on and on.

She's a beauty! Ken's passion for the hobby and all things Robert E. Howard were both infectious and contagious. Ken's legacy lives on :)

Ken was a awesome guy . We traded , bought and sold art from each other for years . He was after a Conan piece I had just purchased right before he died . I begged for this piece and he truly loved this one staying he they would have to pry it from his hands . I went after this one on heritage determined to buy it . my phone froze up and I couldn't continue to bid . I knew someone else knew the story as well as I did . Congrats ! By the way if you decide to sell look me up ! Lol Thanks for Sharing!

I tried my best to get this from Ken Z long ago, and I don't blame him for not letting it go then. We did trade other art, however, and what a great guy he was. Congratulations to you, and high praise for your kind post regarding Ken.

Wow so this is it. The most viewed piece on caf and for some reason I am not surprised it would be a Red Sonja piece. She is just one of those characters that's impossible not to love. Congrats Dino, see you in the chat.
