Description

Dave drew this for me at the Super MegaShow in Secaucus, NJ, July 23rd. 2007. Kamen Rider Amazon was a live action Japanese super-hero show first broadcast in 1974 and as a seven year old kid, living with my family in Japan for the year, I used to watch it everyday when I got home from school.

Dave had never seen the character before, yet, with the few photos I brought for reference, he was able to come up with this incredible drawing - full of action and fun. He didn't have time to finish the monster before the show ended, so he suggested I complete it. I was honored he'd want me to work on the same piece, but I said I'd do it on a seperate sheet of paper and we agreed that when I see him again at a future con, he'd finish up the monster on the actual art.

Here's my penciled monster over Dave's rough on a photocopy.

This is such a fun piece sir! Kamen Rider Amazon looks great. Your monster looks good too! You have good skills, I wish I could draw like that!

Thanks so much, Yoshimichi! Dave did an awesome job with KR Amazon. I've loved Amazon since I was a kid, as well..I lived in Japan for a year..1974-1975 and watched the TV show then...my favorite toy was my Kamen Rider Amazon Popy die-cast - which I still have!
