DescriptionIts so nice to get another page(one of the best)from this story, which I am trying to put back together again. A rather difficult process as anyone who has ever tried when the pages have ended up in many different collections will attest. Trying to complete two four page sequences took me seven years. I hope this does not take as long! This is art at its finest. I feel that this guy should be more loved in the hobby. His work is superb and unique. Worthy of close study. I want to especially thank Jason Hussa for letting this one fly from the US to Ireland. He also provided me with a great scan. Is there no end to his consideration? Social/Sharing |

Nice technique. Love how it's mostly grey tones with just enough blacks to catch your eye.

Please do not start buying them, Eric. Your theoretical budget would blow mine out of the water so far I would end up in space, like Major Tom before his craft blew up.

No worries my friend. First of all, technically I don't collect panel pages. So there's that. Also, I'd have to be a total jerk to buy a page when I know a friend is trying to complete the book. So rest easy and good luck on your quest. You'll probably get it done before I manage to buy my 100th Adams piece. LOL

Beautiful page, Peter (and, gosh - thanks for your very, very kind words). I have a huge task in front of me to replace this one, for sure, but I'm so glad it found its home (and will hopefully be reunited with its brother and sister pages soon!). SO much to love here. Although it's page five, I feel it could easily be the opening page to the story, as cinematic and rich as it is.
The POV changes are so excellent, from that establishing shot, to the viewpoint of the crows overhead (LOVE the life / reality that the small touch of the tire tracks along the top of the panel add to the page), to being discovered as an observer by Armor, to the fish-eye lens looking upwards from below (showing her weary disgust with herself that the crows (and we) had startled her so in the previous panel)... Just SO much goodness.
And then you add to that the incredibly rich marker and tone work on top of it...? Boy howdy, it is a really exquisite page. Kaare was obviously as excited to draw this thing as I was to read it.
SINCERE wishes for a successful reunion of all the pages of the story; you're off to a great start! Congrats, Peter, and thank you again.

There are pages I'll remember
Seen on CAF though hands have changed
Some forever, just for Peter
Some have gone and some remain
X-Men pages have their moments
With pushing wheelchairs I still can recall
Some are wash and some are inking
In my life I've loved them all
But of all these lines and pages
This is artwork that pairs with you
And these memories have more meaning
When I think of art by Kaare Andrews
Though I show Astonishing affection
For compositions that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life send Peter more

I always enjoy your comments! Often they are more entertaining than the artwork! Hope you are well.

Is this your first Beatle's song? I doubt it. You know, you should probably just make this your trademark. No more super analytical comments, just rewritten song lyrics. Then you can go crazy with really obscure bands or songs, maybe even start taking requests. Perhaps cater the songs to the collector. Like for me, do all James Bond theme songs. Haha!

This series is great, loving this page, the art and design capture the feel of this series; abandoned, alone, full of emptiness and loss. Congrats on this beauty!

Great piece and best of luck getting goal for the sets completed! I do agree regarding Kaare - he can do everything, and I like this kind of art most - his uniquely sylized cartoony style. Which matches perfectly with his outstanding storytelling. Witness exhibit A :) His Astonishing work was great, and I love his Iron Fist series. Congrats!
