Wow, you have the whole story. It is bizaare that the guy who had the first Dredd cover is so unappreciated. Not the first time that the crazy guys who reprint the stuff show their snobbery. The same thing happened to Belardinellis work..

'Hell is a very small Hulk!' That's just fantastic - and maybe the only time that sentence has ever been written or spoken. A fun addition to your collection, Bill!

I thinks it's called having a bad day. We all have small, Hulk like moments; some smaller than others.

If Hell is a very small Hulk, what does a very LARGE Hulk equate to?  I don't wanna be around to find out!  Excellent cover, Bill!  I don't know of any other Hulk cover that features a miniaturized Green Goliath, and the team-up with Ant-Man makes it super unique too.  And of course beautifully drawn by this amazing artistic team.  That huge rat is terrifying!!  Major congrats on another stellar addition!

A bigger cover! Man, I really cannot resist set ups like your first sentence. Anyway, Bill J (based on his avatar) has a tiger to take care of any rat problems...Wait a minute, it's just a stuffed toy you say?

That bottom panel is burned into my mind, for all the wrong reasons.  I had another look. So many out of shape people. On a positive note the artwork is magnificent and it does make me feel better about my lack of fitness. The question we all want to know is whether David snuck into a sauna to do life studies.

Super stuff. You really do have some good 'toys' in your collection. I used the word toys because like old toy collectors this is amongst the most nostalgiac of collecting fields. Wait till you read my weepy description of a piece of artwork I have recently managed to snag but not uploaded as its not yet in my sweaty (from excitement) paws. I was told that none of the artwork from the story still existed by a later friend of the artist. Guess at least one escaped.

Wonderful idea but you must elaborate on your statement, "I almost had Mazzucchelli in 2020 but his handler said no sketches." Was he tied up? Hobbled in some manner? His minder of the Misery persuasion? Was her name Wilkes? I can see it now, her screaming that he was all hers and you were just a dirty bird who had to go away as he created just for her, his biggest fan.

The writer has his work cut out to get him out of this. Worked it out already. I should be working for Marvel. It's Logan, disguised as Cyclops, with a pretend light show beam helmet. The next issue begins with one of the X-Men putting the head back on the body and it reattaching using his healing factor. Jesus, I am better than most Marvel writers and they get paid for this type of nonsense. Nice artwork by the way.

Wish I could remember is this was one of the several UKCACs I managed to attend, Simon - possibly one of the occasions you and I passed like ships in the night. I look at guest lists to help, but each time some of the official guests didn't show and others turned up unannounced. Horrific auction story. Had bidding gone on for so long that the auctionneer wanted to move on and get back to the bar? Was the bidding becoming so red hot that it was becoming another fire risk? Whatever the reason, I feel your sense of injustice. (It reminds me that I must put up a page by Garry Leach that I did win at auction, at another convention, and where Dez Skinn was the auctionneer.)

Put up the Leach page, you tease.

Mind blowing work from this classic period of Bill Sienkiewicz!  When he works large there is more throught and fiery passion put into the piece.  He was bringing fine art sensibilities into the comic world and destroying all preconcieved notions of what funny books can accomplish as an artform.

Another victim of a Bill toaster related incident. Your avatar suggests your mind literally tried to blow out of your head, resulting in the bulging eyes and strangely shaped head. Luckily Doctor Frankenstein was on call that day. He did his best, which might explain why he was struck off.

Toasters blew my mind like nothing else Bill has ever done.  A stunning example from this insanely radical body of work.

Proof that Bill was not cut out to do electrical work on toasters. One of his victims speaks. In his own words he literally says, "toasters blew my mind." I see a lawsuit pending.
