DescriptionAs for how this commission got started, I asked Arthur to do a take on Uncanny X-Men 141 by John Byrne and Terry Austin. The details and background brilliance was all Arthur's creativity shinning through!!!!I'm not sure which part of the commission is my favorite. But I really, really like how he drew the individual faces of the X-Men on the "wanted" poster. The facial expressions on each X-Men is just pure magic. Also, if you look at the center Sentinel, I love how Arthur drew him with menacing eyes. Just a lovely drawing that has so much details to appreciate. Thank you Arthur!!!! Social/Sharing |

It was an inspired idea to "expand" the art past the original cover idea. The 141 cover has been homage'd so much (too much ?) that it's almost a cliche. This piece totally redefines what homages to 141 should be.

This is friggin' amazing! I hope to get a commission from Arthur myself one day, and hope it will be half as good as this!

Oh *WOW* Joe! This is one of the greatest Art Adams pieces I have ever seen, and that is really saying something! Truly masterful detail! (and did he do all that lettering by hand as well?) Simply the best thing I have seen anywhere in quite a while! Huge congrats, buddy!

Amazing! Yes I'm with you on this one. I love how he drew the faces of the X-Men on the poster. And I also love this Sentinels. They have always been my favorites and his version is superb. Last but not least, Kitty in my favorite costume which she unfortunately wore for too short a time!

Honestly, this is BRILLIANT! I could stare at this for hours, and then come back the next day and do it again. There's so much to enjoy and Arthur really packed every inch of this piece with incredible detail.

I've actually had a scan of this for quite a while, although I can't remember who sent it to me. Happy to see it in your collection, but not at all surprised. You can see how much work Arthur put into this. Must look even more spectacular in person. Congrats!

You probably can't pick a favorite child among your AA commissions, but this one would be in the running. I'd say it was the best, but that Classic X-Men #1 will not be denied, and with my house being all Star Wars all the time (courtesy of the 7-year-old), I'd have to include the Star Wars one. Too many good looking kids to decide...
