DescriptionGorgeous pre-ASM all-Ditko art from "I Saw the Invasion of the Stone Men!" Tales To Astonish #6 (Nov. 1959). CCA stamp dated May 13, 1959 on the back.Pure DJEE-NIUS !!! I'll never be able to afford ASM or Dr. Strange art but this is definitely the next best thing in my book. Steve Ditko is gone but his art remains and, as he kept repeating, says everything there is to know about his artistry. Social/Sharing |

Congrats! The Ditko pre-hero stories contain some of his finest art.

Such a fantastic page, so much artistry in every panel. With so much to enjoy, I'm trying to figure out what I love best about the page--I think it's the storytelling in the bottom three panels, switching from the close-up to that great middle-panel filled with the black suit of the main character, to all those arms raised in the last panel. Great stuff!

It is interesting how he mixes up the POV from panel to panel and the large middle panel works almost like a splash in the context of these Atlas-era short stories. Good stuff.
