Description10-11-1991 Amazing Spider-Man strip artThis strip comes the day after the 10-10-1991 strip I posted last week. The message Doom is sending is loud and clear. The subjects of Latveria are all smiles before their royal master. Doom is pleased and expects the people to continue their lives as happy and obedient servants. Look behind those "happy" faces and you'll see the gun power of the state pointed at their backs. Don't worry. Be happy. The image of DOOM on this strip is everything. We see the continued dichotomy of Doom's fearful rule. Does he really want them to be happy?.To really love him? Or is it enough for him to know they despise and fear him. Does he let them live in spite of their true feelings? Let's them live, a life time of servitude. Doom is beyond the analysis of any head shrink. He is Doom. And that is all. Your audience is ended. Leave your comment while keeping your head bowed and your mouth silent. Type your insignificant praises and begone. Doom commands it. Larry Lieber and in particular writer Stan Lee strike at the fearful contradictions of DOOM, who is ever confronting his desire to project an outward appearance of benevolence for his subjects, with his much more consuming need to unleash an inner rage, manifesting malevolence against all mankind.Especially that fool Reed Richards. Smile Doctor Doom’s approaching
When there are crowds kept in line, stroll on by
If you smile through your fear for evil
Smile, no uzi tomorrow
You'll see the Doom come shining through for you
Light Victor’s face with gladness
Find Stan Lee’s words of madness
Although him here, maybe never so feared
That's the time you must keep on fawning
Smile, what's the use of dying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile

That's the time you must do his bidding
Smile, daily art’s good buying
You'll find ink line is still worthwhile

Ha ha, yes! Simple ask - keep 'em happy. Lest you come near to hearing a disparaging remark about Doom. Then, they shall meet their swift doom! Congrats!

It would appear the tableau of Doom continues. A reminder of my subjects "groveling" before my molevelance, in abject awe of their lord and master. Doom is well pleased with this newest addition to your gallery, Michael Kenyon. However, know you this.
Art treasures, such as these, belong within the fortified walls of Castle Doom. Only Doom, and Doom alone, is worthy enough to gaze upon such masterpieces. Thus, these last two renderings, of Doom's recorded history, shall be added to Doom's private gallery.
But Doom can be generous. Hand the art over to me, Michael Kenyon. And as a reward, Doom shall allow you to live, serving your Sovereign King till your dying day.
Do not resist, Kenyon. All art treasures belong rightfully to Doom.
