Description

A few months back, I was told that it might be possilbe to get a sketch from THE Barron Storey. I said, "Man, that would be pretty damn cool but that's gotta be a longshot!" Then I was asked if I wanted a Batman; since well, as anyone can see from my gallery that I collect Batman art! (I know...shocking!). I replied, "I'll take anything by Barron Storey, a doodle of a paper clip, anything! but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to ask!" I was told to cool my heels and wait and who knows, maybe I'll get lucky.

Well...boy did I ever get LUCKY!!!
HOLY #@$%!!!

As you can tell from his notes, Mr. Storey had a bit of a 'block' doing Batman and put down on the paper his struggles in doing this piece! I am sure he rued the day he agreed to do this piece for this crazy Bat fanboy dork!!! :P He even quoted Dave McKean on this piece, one of the many artists he's influenced along with Bill Sienkiewicz, Kent Williams and many others.

I have more to add but I'm swamped with work at the moment and I have procrastinated enough in posting this piece. So here it is.

Much thanks to Ryan without whom this would not be possible! And thanks to Simon who arranged it for me and Felix who picked it up at SDCC and with great care shipped it to me. And of course, thanks to Barron Storey for this great piece that will hang on my wall for a very long time!

Shoot, I was going to say HOLY @#$%!!!!! But you stole my line in your description! Anyway, congratulations buddy! This is a truly UNBELIEVABLE piece! And it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy!

You're lucky you know where I live 'cuz this piece would have gotten "lost" otherwise:P Judging by the Joker pieces he's done, Storey makes Batman out to be an even bigger nutjob here. Everything about this piece is original. Love it.
