Description"Pog", this little gem from the Alan Moore run came out of nowhere. For those who never knew of Walt Kelly and his creation, it was just a tad different from the usual stories in the run. More ecological-minded, less horror, and an ending that tore you apart. And of course, you grow up a little, learn more about the classic strip that Mr Moore was paying homage to, and your heart breaks a little more. You people who were reading this in 1985, did you know how lucky you were?I have Malvin to thank for this wonderful example. I always thought I missed the McManus bus when some of his best examples sold a few years ago but this page is perfect proof of the fact that patience is a virue in this hobby. The page remind me of Wrightson's work on the series. Though Messrs. Bissette and Totleben are always #1 for me, every artist who contributed to the run was special. Social/Sharing |

I always thought this issue was a fun change of pace during the Biss/Tot run. I thought Shawn's style would have been a good fit for the book and the character, but certainly a different flavor from what Alan, John, and Steve were doing.

This is one of those rare bits of comic book magic where the right artist meets the perfect story.

This makes me dislike you a little bit. Just a little though.

This page is so good. It's one of the best pages from one of the best Alan Moore's Swamp Thing stories ever. Congratulations.

This sure is one pretty piece! Never knew I needed a McManus before seeing this one. Thanks.
