I really like Matania, especially more so his sff examples which are hard to come by. This one's such a great example!
Extraordinary textures by Mike, one of those pieces you cannot but help staring at forever!
Wonderful piece. Blankets is one of the greatest graphic novels of its decade and seeing a page by Craig is always a treat.
Very underrated arc, and I have not really seen many pages from it that has Dream. Great pickup, congratulations!
I have seen Mowry's work in the Suntup Press editions of Thomas Harris's Hannibal books. This is the first original art piece by him that I have seen on CAF. A beauty!
An Epic page for an Epic Quest. Just in time before the TV show too.
A master inker and an excellent penciller too. Gone too soon, alas.
Another series that one does not see in art collections all that much. Quite a pick-up, congratulations!
Ooh, a rare Craig Thompson piece on CAF. Lucky you, mind sharing the story behind this?
Oof, so so good. You cannot find a Craig Thompson piece in the wild and something of this caliber? Winner all the way.
What a great piece! May I ask which auction site this was on?
I looked more closely and realized it's a later Hitman page! Dang, will have to wait for Omnibus 2 to catch up to this one.
This series ages like fine wine, doesn't it? I ordered my Hitman Omnibus last week, waiting for it to get in and reread from the beginning. Happy to see an early page pop up, especially in one of my favorite collections.
What a wonderful example - every panel is flawlessly executed, the expressions, the inking, and the words. Congratulations!
Wow, congratulations on getting this. Mark did such a great job with the four covers for the compendiums!
It's hard to emphasize how truly historic this is. Mark Buckingham drew this in the 1990s, it was published back in 1992. 30 years later, Mark essentially "remixed" the book in a new incarnation, using his new style, based off the same script from Neil Gaiman. I really cannot think of many such such artifacts in the medium. Herge's post-war reworking of some of his older Tintin work comes close, as does Eddie Campbell's Master Edition of From Hell. I am very happy that the full issue is together in your collection. This book deserves an artist's edition, along with its modern counterpart, to show both fans and art enthusiasts the evolution of Mark's style and his visual language. Congratulations Chris!
Congratulations on scoring a primo CPG sequence. Jeremy Bastian's unique art style is a treat, even for people that do not know about the comics.
Gorgeous DPS. I am a big fan of this school of Toth-inspired minimalist art, specifically by Spanish artists like Pulido and Marcos Martin. One can almost see a straight line from Toth to Rude and Mazzuchhelli and this generation of artists.
Parlov's use of negative space is excellent in this page, as is his minimalist approach towards expressions and posture. A great page in its forever home!
What a fun interpretation. Usually artists find it hard to deviate from the Groening style, but this is awesome!
What a visual spectacle, and what a score!
I recently did a series reread and have a new respect for Pia Guerra's subtle art. None of it was flashy when I first read it, but now, when I revisit details such as the texture of the rain, and the expressions on the characters' faces, or even the visual angles, it feels tremendous. This is an excellent page!
Incredible inking and impeccable framing, especially in the third panel.
I keep coming back to this piece over and over, Wally, love the late period Raymond inks and fabric patterns!
Such a delightfully messed up page, wonder if Frank would have been cancelled if it came out in 2023. Women in fishnets being beaten around in the rain, and of course, the next page is them kissing passionately! Love it, such great use of black and white.
This strip deserved to be part of a museum-worthy collection, and it found its way there. Congratulations on a historic acquisition and for having a great eye.
This is extraordinarily beautiful. Mark's 3D covers are insane! Would you know when this was created - as in, is it recent or was it from the previous Eclipse run?
This is extraordinarily beautiful, wow!
Pleasantly surprised to see her art in your gallery, Jeff! I had come across her work at ECCC a few years ago, thanks to Andy R, and had bought a piece from her, my only purchase at the con. Great style, I love this piece!
Now this is something not just rarer than hen's teeth, but an exquisite feast for the eyes. How on earth did you score this one?
Surreal stuff, this graphic novel gives me goosebumps and the details in the artwork are hypnotic.
What a great collection of Bezimena pieces you have, Roland. Incredible that no one has commented on them yet!
Great piece and wonderful story! For a minute, I tried to understand whether you got it back from your friend because a similar piece showed up on Britcomicsart last week or so and I mistook this for the listed page.
